The Failsafe Prophecies - Chapter One

Elethiya Book 1 failsafe

In the space between unconscious and awake there is only silence.
Rigo’s heartbeat echoed in that silence. He heard the breath enter his lungs and leave. Soon there was a strange distorted ricochet before the sound of children laughing entered the vortex and before his vision returned to him.
In the time it took for him to take a breath, all his senses were back on line, the heavy scent of the flowers, the sounds of running water and laughter. He was in a garden, pink trees everywhere, a small lake and a concrete path circling it. There were couples walking around the lake hand in hand, some on cell phones, kids playing, a man sitting on a bench working with a tablet. He recalled the sound of children laughing that he’d heard just before re-entering time and space.
He didn’t have time to sort out the disorientation before a loud crack split the air. In that break he saw the first roahn-ami appear, and knew why he’d been called to the area.
A human shaped figure, so black in color it would suck out the light of whatever was near it. Its ears were pointed like a cat. Its eyes, they weren’t eyes. They were two egg shaped pockets of white light that allowed it to find its target. They had wings and could fly, but most often, now for instance, their wings were tucked into sleeves in their backs, completely out of view. They could still levitate above most humans, hanging in the air above them like death.
The sweet scent that always accompanied them rivaled the florals. Rigo had come to hate that scent to the point it sickened him. The roahn-ami had only one purpose, to steal the souls of anything it could, and drag those souls to the darkness.
He scanned the area and found the roahn-ami’s target at the same time the demon locked on.
He had no idea what she’d done to elicit such a powerful enemy, but it was his job to make certain the roahn-ami did not succeed. She wore jeans and a yellow tee and had her long blonde hair pulled back in a band at the base of her neck. She was bent over a pale purple rose and completely oblivious to her pending danger.
He began to run, only taking a few steps before the lion buried deep within him came roaring to the surface. Two human feet hitting the pavement turned into four paws. He felt the power surge, the wind rushing through his long black mane. Everything he was became fiercely primal as he charged towards the beast and its intended prey.
He arrived at her the same time as the roahn-ami. She stood now, staring into nothingness. She didn’t notice his presence running towards her, nor the shape behind her. That told him all he needed to know.
She was already in the darkness.
Trapped between two worlds, the battle for her soul would be won or lost by a demon and a shifter.
The roahn-ami were incredibly agile, feminine in their movements, and able to achieve speeds the eye could not follow. This one used its power to pull the girl’s soul from her body. Standing behind her, its hands directed the energy through her body, out her back, and into one of the containers it wore on its belt, the only article of clothing worn by the roahn-ami.
Rigo pushed harder to reach the girl.
Only a few more leaps of his muscles and he’d reach her, but she was already

I have been a published author for about a decade now and in that time, I've written dozens of romance novels. This project for me though is incredibly personal as for the first time, I'm unleashing my Disney lovin' self into a world that I've created. This is Disney World with a quiet little town just within its borders, back in the trees. It came to me one day while I was riding the monorail. It was an idea I'd played with off and on for years, but I finally put two things together and came up with an idea I could get really excited about.

Not far from Orlando is a place called Cassadaga. It's a spiritualist's camp. Their residents are psychic, their hotel is haunted, and it fascinates me. I thought to myself, what if Cassadaga where sitting right here next to Disney World, and what if this town had secrets? Like, what if the residents weren't all human? What if there was a portal to a dark fairy tale realm and the barriers between realms has been breached? And what if there was a legendary falls that held the secret to life and death and possibly the origin thereof?

Take all that, wrap it in Disney World, and you have Elethiya. (El lee thee ah)

There are five different lines, or types, of stories within this world. We have fairy tales, sacred soul mates, those striving for fame and all that goes with it, and we even have a secret club high atop one of the exclusive hotels were bdsm looks nothing like what you've heard. Here men and women of honor seek the type of completion of soul that only the right pairing of Dom to sub can ever deliver.

You can check out more on each line on the Themes page on the site.

I hope you'll give my new world a try. I'm going indie with this project because honestly, it's just too personal to put in the hands of a publisher, even the amazing ones I work with regularly. So what I need more than anything from you all, is to spread the word, share the links, get excited and tell everyone! My intention is to have Elethiya be a long running series that gets truly embraced by its readers.

I love writing fiction, creating characters, and now, worlds. It's one of the greatest gifts of my life and to be able to mesh this with my Disney love, it's more than I ever knew I could have. I hope those of you who love my work will stick by me with this shift, and I hope to open up to a whole new world of Disney fans now as well. Beyond the Lights

I saw this movie a few weeks ago and it will not leave me.

I loved the movie, I loved the soundtrack, I love everything about it and, as usual, movies I LOVE, get little attention from the mainstream. So I'm writing a love song of my own for this beautiful film, its story and its music.

Spoilers ahead!

I think too many people got the wrong impression from the trailer, that this movie was a new take on The Bodyguard. That couldn't be farther from the truth.

There are obvious similarities, as she's a rock star and he's a policeman, but the "danger" she's in is from herself, her life, and her mother, and he's not there to protect her. He stumbles into her life by fluke and they have a moment of destiny. Where the story goes from there... it's the story of a young woman, finally stepping out of the shadow of a controlling stage mom and coming into her own.

That's a hell of a journey.

This woman, Noni, she's about to be launched into super stardom, she's on that precipice, but she's so broken and lost inside that she tries
